Here's a summer home checklist from Home Service Reports (courtesy of Foremost Insurance Group) to make sure your home is up to par during these upcoming summer months.

• Change or clean HVAC air filters.
• Have septic tank inspected (if applicable).
• Make sure the lateral sewer lines are inspected and cleared.
• Inspect all surfaces around your home such as driveways, sidewalks, patios, bricks, stone and concrete for cracks and repair as needed
• Inspect decks, steps, and wooden structures for wood rot, and other damage. Repair as soon as possible.
• Weatherproof all wooden surfaces if it has been over 2 years since you last did so.
• Check eaves around your home's roof and remove insect nest.
• Test ground-fault circuit interrupters around your home.
• Inspect washer hoses and vent system.
• Remove hair from all drains and use the proper drain cleaner for your system.
